Dental Hygienist Price Comparison in Turku

Do you want to see a dental hygienist to have tartar removed, but don’t feel like waiting for an appointment in public dental care, or maybe you’re looking for a painless dental hygienist experience? I want good value for money too: painless, expert service, a short wait and still a competitive price.

The starting point for the price comparison is the City of Turku’s dental care fees for 2021, where tartar removal costs 8.40 € – 54.90 € (charged by the time used), plus a visit fee, which for a dental hygienist is 10.20 €. The price list doesn’t say, but I assume the 54.90+10.20€, or 65.10€, fee applies to a 45- or 60-minute visit. Public dental care is not eligible for a Kela (Social Insurance Institution) reimbursement.

The price comparison below, made in 2021, shows that prices vary a lot, and smaller clinics offer much cheaper prices. For example, Hammasklinikka Tuomi in Raisio, at 75€, is not much more expensive than the public option.

All prices are after the Kela reimbursement. The most expensive price was taken from each price list, which was often stated to be for a 60-minute appointment. For some, the length of the treatment is unclear.
